For the past 20 years, Sonoma Shade Sails has been the focus of Bob and Andrea’s work. Permanent shade sail installation in Northern California has grown by leaps and bounds.
Amidst the challenges of the Pandemic, they dedicated themselves to creating a more affordable shade solution. They envisioned an engineered, semi-portable shade device that combined elegance with practicality. Shade that could be relocated and even stored away during the winter months. Inspired by years on the windy shores of Lake Powell in Page, Arizona, together they created this unique shade structure—unlike any other.
Andrea remembers the day after the first TERRASHADE was installed at Russian River Brewing Company. “It was mid-morning when I arrived. I heard voices coming from behind the gate. As I came around the corner I saw a collection of bicyclists who had relocated all of the available chairs out under the TERRASHADE unit and were enjoying the beauty of the morning.
Bob and Andrea want to thank Natalie and Vinny Cilurzo, owners of Russian River Brewing Company for their support of TERRASHADE. Their community minded approach towards business collaboration helped us in the early stages of R & D; we are forever grateful for that thoughtful assist..and for bringing Pliny to Sonoma County! Vinny’s award winning brew masterpieces are legendary!
Our first temporary sail project was at Giants Stadium in SFO for The Giants Race First Aid station. Installed over the visitors dugout, we looked forward to joining them in the festivities from 2012 to 2017. In 2018 they added permanent safety netting to all MLB dugouts.
TERRASHADE® joins other community-minded businesses to support local events by providing portable shades. We thank the following businesses that have helped us make TERRASHADE® a reality.
